Message from Tennessee Public Utility Commission about TDAP
I wanted to touch base with everyone regarding our wireless program. We are now offering wireless devices to our consumers, through Teltex, Inc. They offer iPads and iPhones with specifically designed apps for the following disabilities: hard of hearing, deaf, blind/low vision, speech, mobility, and cognitive. We will provide devices only-consumers are required to get their own service through one of the wireless companies. Consumers will fill out the regular TDAP application, along with an attached sheet, explaining what is available for them-see attachments.
Please know that if a consumer has already received equipment through TDAP within the last three(amplified phones) to five(CapTel phones) years, they are NOT eligible to receive any new(meaning wireless) equipment until that time is up. We are only allowed to order so many a month, so we will review each application thoroughly and might contact the professional who signs the application for more information as to why this person needs a wireless device.
Thank you all so much for your patience in this matter. We will be sending out flyers soon, but please spread the word. If anyone has any questions, have them call (615) 741-2904 and ask for my administrative assistant, Mary, or myself.
